Crisis Intervention: When An Alcohol Intervention Didn’t Work

Crisis Intervention: How Do Know That You’re Not Overreacting

If you think that you need to stage a crisis intervention but are worried you are overreacting you can always call an interventionist and explain the situation to them. They will let you know whether or not immediate action is required. Chances are if you are thinking you need to stage a crisis intervention something has happened that has made you feel that way. The addict has either hit rock bottom or has threatened to hurt themselves or someone else if you don’t give them what they want.

Is It Hypocritical To Stage An Alcohol Intervention If I Drink Alcohol?

There’s a difference between drinking alcohol and abusing alcohol. Just because drink alcohol doesn’t mean that you are a hypocrite for telling your friend who is an alcohol that they need help. The reason you are getting behind this person’s family and friends at an alcohol intervention is because you recognize they do not have their alcohol consumption under control. They need help and until they get help they are going to continue to act, say and do things under the influence that’s troubling.

There Are Different Crisis Intervention Strategies

If you’re thinking of staging a crisis intervention but you don’t know the first thing about interventions and how to go about organizing one an interventionist can help you. They’ll first ask you what’s going on that makes you feel like you need to act now and once they listen to what you have to say then they’ll suggest some crisis intervention strategies. You don’t want to walk into any intervention build. You want to be as organized as you can going into one. Sometimes you only get one chance with an addict.
