Crisis Intervention Service: Getting Alcohol Abuse Intervention Information

A Crisis Intervention Service Can Walk You Through The Intervention Process

When you get to the point where you need a crisis intervention a crisis intervention service can help you. Hopefully, prior to having this crisis intervention you’ve tried to talk to the addict and even had a regular intervention already. Usually, most parents, friends, families and coworkers have at the very least spoke with the addict one-on-one about their drinking and or drug problem. Ideally, an crisis intervention staff member will have talked to you in the past and know a little bit about the addict’s alcohol or drug background.

Alcohol Abuse Intervention Isn’t For The Social Drinker

It can be hard to decipher between and alcoholic and a social drinker who maybe has a few too many on club night. Just because your boyfriend throws back a lot of beer doesn’t mean he needs an alcohol abuse intervention. Any drinking is a lot of someone who doesn’t drink. If you just don’t enjoy drinking and don’t enjoy events that are surrounded around drinking you may want to consider a new mate. However, if this is someone you love and they clearly have a problem then you need to think about getting them help.

A Drug Intervention Doesn’t Always Mean Rehab

Usually, when someone is abusing drug the only way to get them to stop is to have them check in at a rehab facility that has experience dealing with drug addiction. However, if your friend is smoking pot too much or dabbling in cocaine on the weekends and you’re concerned you can still have a drug intervention and that doesn’t necessarily mean they are headed to rehab. Some people who are on the borderline of developing a problem only need a few people to tell them that and that’s it, they stop.
