Alcohol Abuse Intervention: When To Know If You Need A Crisis Intervention Service
What Not To Do At An Alcohol Abuse Intervention
Do not going to an alcohol abuse intervention with an attitude. If you’ve been asked to participate it’s because they family or friend that’s asked you thinks you can make a positive impact on the addict and hopefully help convince them they have a problem. If you go into the intervention with an attitude you may turn not only the other people off but the addict off as well. That’s the last thing you want to do.
Crying At An Intervention
If you’ve seen an intervention in the movies or on TV then you know they can be very emotional. Either because the family and friends of the addict are so upset by the addict’s alcohol or drug abuse and so worried about their fate that it literally brings them to tears. It’s okay to cry at an intervention but if you can try and keep your composure that’s a good thing. Don’t kick yourself later for getting emotional but do know that emotion can be used against you by the addict who is looking for the smallest window possible to manipulate themselves out of going to rehab.
