Intervention: Intervention Services and the Drug Interventionist |
Intervention Intervention is a scary and complicated word. The process of intervening in someone else’s life in an attempt to help them requires time and thought. The intensity of an intervention can be placed on a large spectrum. In some instances, the intervention will be short and simple. This tends to happen with someone who may be closer to the surface in terms of his or her addiction. In cases like this, a short and honest discussion with a family member or friend might do the trick and help them recognize that they need help. In other cases, perhaps with a person who is much more deep into their addiction, a more intense intervention may be required. Intervention Services The goal of intervention services are to help you and your loved ones. In the more intense cases, the addicted individual is unaware of the intervention. For example, they come home one day and their family and friends share with them their concerns as an interventionist facilitates. In a successful intervention, the individual will be taken to a treatment center immediately. In the most severe cases, the individual may be taken against their will. Drug Interventionist
