Intervention AE Intervention AE is a television series that illustrates the lives of individuals who suffer from some form of addiction or compulsive behavior. The show highlights the various intervention strategies used by the family members and friends of these individuals, and aims to provide hope to others out there who are suffering from similar ailments. Each episode introduces an individual who is displaying signs of addiction and/or compulsion and explores a day in the life of an addict, drawing upon their specific intervention, highlighting both the positives and the negatives of it, and the aftermath. The goal at the end of every episode is to encourage the individual to participate in some type of treatment program. The show provides its audience with the notion that recovery is possible, and that with the right tools and the right attitude, anything is achievable. Drug Addiction Intervention One of the most common illustrations on the intervention T.V show is a drug addiction intervention. Drug addiction is extremely common and extremely dangerous. Whether an individual is abusing prescription drugs, or illegal street drugs, they are putting their life at risk. A common approach to a drug addiction intervention would be for family and close friends to meet with a professional and develop supportive statements and find an appropriate treatment facility for the individual. If the intervention goes as planned, the encouraging and supportive stance from the family members and close friends of the individual will be incentive for them to get the help that they need. Alcoholism Intervention Also common are alcoholism interventions. Alcoholism is a dangerous and detrimental disease and unfortunately plagues a very large percentage of people. An alcoholism intervention is no different from a drug addiction intervention. Both can be carried out in similar manners with the same goal of getting the individual help.
