Yes. Staging an intervention is serious business therefore the people that work at intervention services are trained professionals who know how to do with a drug or alcohol abuser. They have participated and ran several interventions and have seen it all. They’ve seen adults, teens, people with serious addictions, people who are functioning addicts. They’ve seen addicts who are great at lying and convincing people of their sobriety. They’ve seen people who are a complete mess and have hit rock bottom.

What Does Drug Intervention Training Involve?

People who are trained to run and help put together interventions go through a series of steps. There are tools that an interventionist learns in drug intervention training that helps to deal with an intervention. While they have to understand the sensitivity that the family or friends must be feeling, they also have to do what’s best for the addict. Sometimes, they may say and do things that seem counteractive but usually they are doing them for a reason. If the addict is in severe denial they need to push when family members can’t.

I’ve Used Drugs, Do I Need A Drug Addiction Intervention?

Not everyone that uses drugs has a drug problem. Some people do use drugs recreationally. While it’s not a good idea to use drugs if you are not abusing drugs chances are you don’t need a drug addiction intervention. That being said drugs are illegal and if you are caught with drugs even marijuana you can be arrested and put in jail. All drugs are mind altering substances though some alter your mind more than others. It’s better to not use drugs at all but if you are taking acid all the time, or heroin or snorting coke you may have a serious problem.
